Idea and inspiration

I saw this frame at a re-use centre and immediately thought it would make a great chalkboard. So I paid my few dollars and walked home, pushing the stroller with the frame draped over my shoulders. The day after it was finished, I wrote a quote on it and that theme has just continued. My intention was to change the quotes weekly: that doesn’t always happen.

If you don’t happen to stumble upon an awesome second-hand frame like I did, then any frame painted black would suffice. (Someone recently told me that this one was originally sold in IKEA.) For the board I used an MDF offcut that a neighbour was throwing away, but you can also go to a hardware store and get a piece cut to size.
